Fold-down two-track ramp — aluminium (folds to the wall)

The fold-down two-track ramp is a sensible solution for narrow steps where there is no room for a permanent ramp. It consists of two parallel tracks (rails) along which the wheelchair wheels move. When the ramp is not needed, the tracks fold up to the wall and are secured with a special hook — then the step remains completely free for pedestrians.

The tracks are made of lightweight and strong ribbed aluminium. The ribbed surface resists slipping, and aluminium is corrosion-resistant and lightweight — this makes folding and unfolding easy even for one person. Such models are well suited for the entrances of multi-storey buildings, narrow entries and the adaptation (retrofit) of existing steps.

The structure is attached to the top of the step via a hinge, and there is a hook on the wall holding the folded position. The distance between the tracks is adjusted to the standard wheelbase of a wheelchair; the length is chosen by the number of steps. The slope depends on the step height, and an attendant (helper) is recommended during use.
